Transforming prisoners’ lives through learning
Prisoners’ Education Trust (PET) is a national charity that provides educational opportunities to people in prison, helping them gain qualifications and rebuild their futures after release.
Challenge
PET’s existing website struggled to meet accessibility standards and had limited flexibility for managing diverse audiences — from supporters and funders to prison staff and policy partners. They needed a rebuild that could showcase impact, host resources, and connect seamlessly with a secure learning platform for people in custody.
Solution
Working alongside Ave Design, we rebuilt the main Prisoners’ Education Trust website using the block editor and Restrict Content Pro for secure member access. The site integrates with Gravity Forms for staff communication, and features a private login area where prison education staff can access learning materials and short courses. The design balances accessibility, clarity, and trust — essential for an organisation advocating for education within the justice system.
Outcome
The new website unites PET’s public mission and professional community under one platform — helping funders, supporters, and staff engage with their work and amplify their message that education changes lives.
