Architects Benevolent Society

Supporting architects and families with a human-centred digital experience

Architects Benevolent Society (ABS) supports architects, technologists, and their families with practical, financial, and emotional assistance. Working with Ave Design, we helped bring their new visual identity to life through a bespoke WordPress site that balances compassion with professionalism.

Challenge

ABS needed a modern, mobile-first website that reflected the charity’s refreshed brand while ensuring accessibility and usability for a diverse audience. The build had to stay true to the design agency’s creative vision while delivering technical excellence and SEO performance.

Solution

We developed a custom WordPress theme using the block editor and ACF, ensuring full design fidelity and editorial flexibility. The site was optimised for accessibility, SEO, and performance, achieving default Lighthouse scores of 90+ while maintaining a contemporary, human-focused design language with custom illustrations and typography.

Outcome

The new ABS site delivers a welcoming, trustworthy user experience – showcasing the charity’s mission and impact while empowering staff to manage content with confidence and ease.
